On this cool Spring morning with basket in hand, I am heading to the Farmer's Market! 

I never quite understood this shoe style and Italian women, a high-heeled running shoe?  That was, of course,  until I bought these lovely beauties...they're a pair of high-heeled running shoes! The comfort of a running shoe but the beauty and style of a heel...genius! I only wish I had invested in a pair sooner!

With food fresh from the Farmer's Market, for lunch I am making Stigghioli con cipolla fresca  (Prosciutto wrapped Spring Onions).  Only one thing missing...Extra Virgin Olive Oil!

Question: where does one find the best Extra Virgin Olive Oil outside of Sicily? Sicily. There is no substitute for good olive oil, and any Italian will tell you as much. What they serve commercially here in the US is often an adulterated mix of olive oils from Europe, South America, Northern Africa and the Middle East. I happen to love the fresh, authentic, all natural Sicilian olive oil from Emilio and Mariska's farm: Azienda Agricola Infantino.

Made from Olives grown in the Iblei Mountain Range, the soil and climate are what lend themselves to the signature taste which is the most flavorful oil in all of Sicily. From the growing and harvesting to the pressing and bottling, Emilio and Mariska oversee every detail of the process, and when you taste it, you know you are having the best!

My recommendations:

For your palate: Garlic Olive Oil (especially for dipping fresh bread)
For your body: the Jasmine (Gelsomino) Olive Oil (it leaves your skin so smooth, soft and fragrant that you will never want to use lotion again!)

Mid-Week Matinee: Nine West -Cydell, Red

School Daze

I’ve been partying my ass off from the first night my parents dropped me off at Statesboro College which is a small liberal arts college of my choosing. As a general education class, all Freshmen must take a cross-curriculum perspective course in order to fulfill one of the requirements for a bachelor’s degree. For almost a week, I’ve gotten up with a hangover and by the time it came to register for classes, I checked Intro to Civics  instead of Civic Responsibility; my moment of absentmindedness, landed me in a classroom full of misfits and frat house rejects.  A minute or so, after I realized I was in the wrong class, I made tracks for the door.  I was just about out, when I bumped into a Senior who is built like a linebacker, and whom I had not seen at any of the parties; he apologized for what was obviously my mistake and as I watched him enter the room, I was awestruck. 

Dressed in blue jeans, a white t-shirt with and a black leather jacket, the dark haired stranger walked to the podium, apologized to the class for being tardy, and then he introduced himself: Dr. Chris Morrison.  I returned to my seat.  It’s official: I have decided to change my major to Political Science.  I swear I could @#$% Dr. Morrison for the hour and 17 minutes he is supposed to teach, twice a week for the 16-week semester.

God how I wish I had an hour alone with him –%$#@ I’d take 20 minutes, as sexy as he is.  After he dismisses class, I would be one of the first to leave, and as the room emptied I return pretending to have forgotten to ask him a question about the lecture.  As we make our way back to the podium, I drop my pen and bend over –all the way over to pick it up. The mini-skirt I’m wearing is short, revealing panties with a sheer black bottom.

I feel his hands rub against the thin mesh before I stand and walk to the podium.  He is close behind me.  Chris’ arms are strong and he turns me to face him then lifts me on top of the stand.  He leans in to kiss me; and his kiss is like his touch -rough, but I enjoy it. He reaches up my skirt and tears off my panties.  Chris spreads my legs before him and...

Naya -Fauna Tan/Coffee

Casually cool, I stepped out of the house this morning feeling very European.  I love the European style of laid back effortless dressing which is always well put together.  The mixing and matching of textures, fabrics and prints is a very flavorful fashion expression that I witnessed all over the European continent.  Regardless of age, our European counterparts, ditch the tennis shoes and sweats in favor of shirts, scarves and chinos, giving a relaxed elegance from shopping at the market or dining al fresco!

Today, in this ensemble, I am headed to the park with the children.  With the coolness in the air this morning, these ballet-type flats are perfect to keep my (always cold feet) warm.  The arch support and cushioned insole are great for the walk and whatever may come our way.

Now you know, my fellow Shoe-a-Holics, I love me some heels!   But when I saw these beauties on sale (I had been eyeing them for a while in the grey...they were already sold out of them in the black leather), I couldn't resist...so much so that I bought two pairs, the other I plan to have dyed black!

From the park, we headed down to the River Front, where I encountered some fans (if only of my hair); on assignment with their Cosmetology Class, these beauties asked they could snap some pictures of my curls, I agreed!  I was extremely flattered.  This curly hair is a recent style for me (within the last few years), and brings out my inner wild child!

Adventure worthy, I can't wait to wear these beauties again...in black!

I haven't quite figured out how to use photoshop, so my lemon tree made a cameo in the shot!

A long time admirer of Converse's line of Chuck Taylor's, hubby got the first pair of Chucks (high-tops in blue) in his collection when our eldest child got her first pair (also high-tops in blue)...then there was no stopping him!

Not a record yet!  Joel has 27 pairs of Chucks (he found a pair of high-top pinstriped Chucks in a taupe color yesterday)...but this Florida woman holds the Guinness Record for the World's Largest Collection of Converse Chuck Talyor Sneakers at 733 (at the time of counting)!  See her story here.

Just a note:  When I bought these Dance beauties, I was on a Great Wilderness Adventure!  I wandered into a shoe store (beckoned actually..there were sale signs everywhere), and a statuesque beauty named Stephanie helped me with my purchase.  Unfortunately, all the pictures from my adventure never made it home with me and subsequently did not make it to tutte le Mie Scarpe.  But I reserve the right, should those pictures of my Wilderness Adventure resurface, to reblog them.  Special thanx to Monica, Lisa, Mosea, Turiska, Stephanie and everyone who made that adventure memorable!
