My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, whether they are quirky, clever or cute, I love a pair of shoes that are different...or at least, secretly so.  And these gladiator flats from Hush Puppies certainly fit the bill!  If you are like me and hate fidgeting with buckles, especially after the nails are done or once fully dressed, these cleverly designed beauties have two functional buckles, but as an added convenience, each buckle has a hook which can be used to open and close the shoe.  Brilliant!

Monday's Must Have Shoes: Mojo Moxy -Pippa

With the last weekend of summer officially behind us, and as we countdown to falling leaves, cooler temperatures, woolly socks and oh-so-fabulous boots, I would be remiss if I didn't post one last Must Have shoe for the summer of 2012 (and for any die-hard Shoe-A-Holic). 

And here she is...let me introduce you to Pippa, by Mojo Moxy!

 

Every Shoe-A-Holic needs a pair of over-the-top shoes!  Yes, we all have the smart shoes, and the sexy shoes, and the comfortable shoes, and beach/pool shoes, and the bedroom shoes, and the house shoes, and the yard shoes, and the exercise shoes, and the 'pick-up the kids from school' shoes...but how many of us have a pull-out-all-the-stops, take-no-prisoners, party-'til-you drop shoes?  Exactly!  So what are you waiting for?

How I styled this?
I waited a long time for these beauties.  And with a mix up with the delivery, and after several weeks, I had to start the process all over again!  My biggest dilemma when purchasing them was the color; these sexy stems came in five delicious colors and it was a choice between the yellow-lemon drop color with the pink band and blue bow or these baby blues with the tan band and pink bow!  Being partial to pink, the blue pair won, but what to wear with them?  I needed a dress that could pull off the sassiness of these shoes, and through the power of positive thinking (I believe), the dress found its way to me, one summer morning during my tax-free weekend shopping at Bealls! Dots had just moved, and I got an additional 40% of this gorgeous dress from Nine West!  Am I the only who didn't know they made such fabulous clothes?

Monday's Must Have Shoes: Fergie -Bingo, Blue

Another must have for any serious Shoe-A-Holic is a sky-high wedge!  Anything that lengthens your legs, I am all for, but what is so tantalizing about these beauties is that you have the stability of a wedge!  Could a pair of shoes be anymore perfect? I agree, no!  And that is why I purchased them in all three colors!

Monday's Must Have Shoes: Kork Ease -Bette, Gold

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, nothing shows off your beautifully bronzed summer skin than metal -metallic that is!  While I am a lover of all things silver, I can't help but love the the stark contrast between my deeply sun-kissed skin and the bright golden color of my shoes, especially with the sandy beach and calming tide as a backdrop.

 

Playing in the sunshine, many of the pictures were purposely taken in the shadow and light to demonstrate just how beautiful the rich gold color looks!

Monday's Must Have Shoes: Carlos by Carlos Santana -Webbed, Rosa

Shoe-A-Holics!  If you don't have an Ankle-Wrap Sandal, you need to get yourself a pair!  A must have shoe for the summer of 2012 and a silhouette which never goes out of style, both sexy and alluring, they add length to your legs by accentuating the thinness of your ankles. 

This style has always been a favorite of mine, and I think I finally realize why I have had a life long love affair with this type of shoe.  I was five when my older siblings taught me how to tie my shoes; but unlike most, who actually learn to tie their own shoes on their own shoe, my shoes were canvas slips ons or t-straps with buckles (another of my favorite shoes). 

So how did I learn to tie my shoes? With a piece of thread, tied around my calves. And when I finally mastered this elementary task, I was by myself, and sought out my siblings and parents in various places throughout the house with the colorful piece of thread tied around my calves to display my newly acquired knowledge.  Rightly proud, but most likely unknowingly, I wore the thread about my legs the entire day!

Monday's Must Have Shoes: MIA -Rascal 1, Dark Brown

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, another of my Monday Must Haves, especially as the summer is drawing to a close and cooler temperatures are on the horizon -these Biker boots! .

Now admittedly, when the summer of 2012 began, the jury was still out on boots in the summer; my Italian side stands steadfast to the belief that there are only two real seasons: Bikini and Boot! But one can totally pull of this contradictory piece of footwear provided the boots are low.

Monday's Must Have Shoes: ALDO -Tille 19

Looking for a way to amp up your sex factor? Then a sexy stiletto is a shoe for you!

Now, I'm not just talking about a skinny-heeled shoe which passes itself off as a stiletto, I am talking the real deal; the shoes with stems of solid metal.  And why is this one of my Must Have Shoes not just for the summer of 2012, but as a show piece in your own shoe arsenal?

Stilettos give the optical illusion of longer, slimmer legs, a smaller foot and a greater overall height. They also alter the wearer's posture and gait by flexing the calf muscles and making the bust and buttocks more prominent.*

Now, do you really need anymore reasons to own a pair of stilettos?

Monday's Must Have Shoes: Steve Madden -Kia, Cognac

Fellow Shoe-A-Holics, another great pick for a must have shoe this 2012 summer season, is a floral print sandal. I hemmed and hawed over buying a fabric sandal because I like to think of my shoes as an investment -I can justify spending the money on shoes, if I know they are going to last more than a year and especially more than a season.

But with these beauties from Steve Madden I lucked out. I happened across the DSW page while on Facebook one afternoon and they were having a clearance event. These Kia's were marked down from $110.00 to $19.94 (in both the cognac pictured and the beige).

Leather upper + a printed heel and platform = one great sandal!

DSW also had a promotional event going on, that if you bought merchandise from their clearance and posted your receipt (to show them your savings), you'd get a surprise...and I did! A $5.00 gift card for a future purchase...which I combined with another $5.00 credit I had, and purchased two pairs of Franco Sarto suede wedge boots for $21.51 a piece...Nice!
