Incorporating color into your Shoe Arsenal need not be a daunting undertaking.  While colors express a rainbow of sentiment, choosing or even utilizing a haute hue can leave one fraught with emotion, and as a result, those beautiful silver stilettos, pink platforms or purple pumps remain in store instead of gracing ones' feet.

Pantone, fashion's leading authority on color, virtually eliminates the guess work of what to chose and how to use your color choice in their semi-annual color report.  For the 2014 winter, their Palette of Many Moods which were chosen to, "...enhance and enliven [ones'] outlooks as the colder months set in."

"Exotic Acai adds mystery and richness to the palette." Incorporating this elegant shade of purple with Emerald (Green), Samba (Red), Koi (Orange) and Vivacious (Fuchsia) one can create color combinations which are regal, spirited, dramatic and dazzling.

New year...new shoes...and what better way to celebrate than with a platform pump in a rich fabric and a bold color?  Single-soled pumps made a resurgence last year, but a must have for 2014 is a dynamic pump with a sexy internal platform.

Platforms are a great way to add stability to a shoe.  Taking down the height of a heel, the platform adds comfort, allowing for one to achieve a towering look without  having to conquer a sky-high heel.  And the beauty about the internal platform is that it still gives you the 'look' of a single-soled pump!

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, although I am not a fan of the cold, I am a fan of the footwear which accompanies the cooler weather; living in a sub-tropical climate, some summer sandals don't get the opportunity to be worn because of the intense heat and humidity.

So during the fall (and sometimes early spring), I take out my suede beauties and transition to the next season in style.  Suede sandals are an ideal piece to bridge the hot-to-cool (or cold-to-warm) seasons; with their open design paired with this warm, heavy fabric, one is suitably dressed from morning 'til night!

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, these beauties that grace my feet today, I affectionately refer to as my 'Stand Up & Get Noticed Shoes'.  Every girl needs a head-turning-attention-grabbing-traffic-stopping pair of lust worthy heels that elevate your style, and these definitely fit the bill!

When looking for a pair of 'Stand Up & Get Noticed Shoes', my tips for you are simple:

Find a pair of shoes that you can walk in!  There is nothing un-sexier than a fabulous pair of heels on a person who is struggling to walk in them.  If you need to practice your strut, then do so, in increasingly higher heels, in the privacy of your own home.  Practice walking up and down stairs, on hard and soft surfaces, so that when you head out, you will have mastered your heels, not the other way around.

Get something fun and/or unique!  Everyone has boring, sensible shoes, so why not go for something that is different, calling attention to your gams or that late-season pedi?  These combo peep-toe-maryjane-platform-stilettos instantly turn up the Wow factor. and scream, 'Look at me!'

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, every girl needs a pair of going out shoes (or several), and if you're like me, with a Shoe Arsenal filled with every conceivable style of black pump there is, then a beautiful alternative is one in a metallic hue.

Silver, gold, pewter or bronze, all considered to be a 'neutral color', you can't go wrong with a pair of stems in any of these shades.  Just remember to keep your metallics (shoes and accessories) in the same color family to keep your look polished!

He we are again, my fellow Shoe-A-Holics, on the verge of welcoming another season, and if you are anything like me, the change in climate leaves you with the twice-a-year-dilemma: What do I wear when transitioning into...(in this case), autumn?  My recommendation is a open-toe shootie!

The marvelous hybrid of a shoe and bootie with the open-toe practicality of a sandal, is perfect on every level: the cool mornings are no match for the closed heel style of this shoe, while the warm afternoons are a breeze with the open front design.  In a leg-lengthening height, a shootie is sure to be a staple from now, to well into the fall!

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, I have learned a lot about shoes over these last few years of writing this blog:  I've learned  how heel height is relative to foot size, how platforms reduce the elevation of the heel and how the right fit can stabilize a heel as you walk, I have learned how to style shoes, boots and sandals, how to wear them and wear them confidently, how the right pair of shoes can truly make a difference.  But there has been a down side to what I have learned as well...I really do have a lot of shoes; and while I don't see my shoe buying days coming to an end any time soon, I realize that with a plethora of shoes, quantity has often been sacrificed for quality and that with so many shoes, they (the shoes) don't always get their fair share of wear! 

So I have decided that, although I love shoes (a lot), I'm going to limit myself to the number that I purchase...I have to stop, I cannot write this with a straight face...I am, however, going to limit myself to the number of shoes I buy of the same style.  In the past, I actually bought 7 pairs of  shoes...at the same time...all in store...all in the same style, just different colors; the sad thing being I would have bought 8 pairs but the lone hold out was not available in my size.  My last quadruple showing of a single style of shoe will be with this Penni from Type Z.  I do reserve the right to still buy shoes in triplicate and duos...afterall, I'm still a Shoe-A-Holic...that hasn't changed!

My fellow Shoe-A-Holics, there are days, when it is warm, that I do not wear sandals; today is one of those days!

I wanted my look to be professional, but in this 90 degree (30+ degree Celsius) heat outdoors and 60 degree (15 Celsius) indoors, I needed strike a happy medium between these two temperature extremes; spending most of my time inside, I decided to dress for the air conditioning and wear these suede, open-toe wedges, which allowed me to easily transition from the heat to the cool and back again.
